THE SETUP:

1. Hypothetical Post-Victorian world, Retro-Swashbucklers fighting semi-Mechanical Alien Monsters

THE PLOT:

From the un-dimensional cosmic abyss come great beings of immense power, now liberated from eons of imprisonment by an unknown galactic catastrophe. Their earth-bound counterparts have existed in the world since its formation, imprisoned in the dark places of the world with unbreakable bonds, save for the fulfillment of certain prophecies. Through time and space these beings traveled, praying upon every lifeform existing in the universe. Highly adaptive they often take on the attributes of the lifeforms they come into contact with, through modification and integration with the indigenous lifeforms of the worlds they have conquered. They are once again roaming the stars in search of that one world from which they were banished

Not satisfied with the limitations of the beings they encounter the ancient alien creatures modify themselves machanically. Perhaps someone can beat them at their own game.

Can nothing stop the onslaught that is sure to come......

General style of writing for RPG:

Steampunk-is a sub-genre of science fiction, fantasy, alternate history, and speculative fiction. Steampunk involves a setting where steam power is widely used?whether in an alternate history such as Victorian era Britain or "Wild West"-era United States, or in a post-apocalyptic time ?that incorporates elements of either science fiction or fantasy. Works of steampunk often feature anachronistic technology, or futuristic innovations as Victorians might have envisioned them, based on a Victorian perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, and art.

Splatterpunk?refers to a movement within horror fiction distinguished by its graphic, often gory, "hyper-intensive horror with no limits" depiction of violence. Regarded as a revolt against the "traditional, meekly suggestive horror story.

Inspiration:

BATTLEMECHS & CTHULHUTECH

CthulhuTech is a science-fiction and horror roleplaying game created by Wildfire LLC and published by Sandstorm that combines elements of the Cthulhu Mythos with anime-style mecha, horror, magic and futuristic action. (no prior knowledge of Lovecraft's writings needed)

BattleMechs (often abbreviated 'Mechs) are large walking war machines. 'Mechs, which are generally either bipedal or quadrupedal in configuration, are most often controlled by human pilots.

THE THREE MUSKETEERS

The Three Musketeers is set in the 17th century, it recounts the adventures of a young man named d'Artagnan who joins the Musketeers of the Guard. D'Artagnan is not one of the musketeers of the title; those are his friends Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, inseparable friends who live by the motto "all for one, one for all" They are portrayed as noble heroic men.
